Dr. Gustavo Demarco, a Lead Economist and Global Pensions Lead at the World Bank, has joined the training faculty at MenaMoney Academy following his recent retirement from the World Bank.

Gustavo has led tens of World Bank’s operations and policy dialogue projects on Pensions, Social Protection, and Labor across Middle Eastern and North African countries for 20 years, including the Saudi Arabia Engagement for Pensions Reforms and Aging most recently.

Before joining the World Bank, he served as Director of Operations and Planning at the Pension Supervision Authority of Argentina.

He graduated as an economist from the University of Córdoba (Argentina) and followed with postgraduate studies in Chile.

He is an economist specialised in Pensions, Social Insurance, Aging and Disability with 15 years in academia and more than 20 years at The World Bank.

Gustavo has consistently been speaking in the annual Arab Pension & Social Insurance Conference organised by MenaMoney Academy.

Joining a select of top global and regional trainers from academics and sector experts at MenaMoney Academy, Dr. Gustavo will be leading the training courses on pension system design and implementation, actuarial reviews and reforms for pension and healthcare funds, and pension investment.
